In honor of Women’s History Month, Dr. Julie Rose, director of Marietta House Museum, will share the latest research about the women, free and enslaved, who lived and labored at Marietta between 1783 and 1865. How did their lives intersect at Marietta, a former tobacco plantation in Prince George’s County? The talk features three generations of enslaved women from the Jackson, Butler, and Duckett families and the enslaving mistress Jane Duvall.

Hyattsville Jazz Collective led by Mike Cemprola

The Hyattsville Jazz Collective was founded in 2018 and calls Maryland Meadworks home. The group performs there once a month and has also been playing in Prince GeorgeÂ’s County at various events and locations since. Comprised of 5 local musicians, the group performs new compositions as well as their own treatments of jazz standards. Each member lived in Philadelphia or New York City for years before relocating to the DMV and brings a wealth of experience to this band.
